Mark still has the doubles final to look forward to at least. His vanquisher in the singles, Darderi, was the player he beat in the semi-final last week. He should take some encouragement from taking a set off him this week as Darderi has otherwise coasted into the final with very lopsided victories.

There is an important domestic tournament taking place this week - the under14 Grass Court nationals. The significance is that the finalists will all win a place in the Wimbledon U14 Invitational event, which debuted last year. Mark Ceban (see above) is missing, but has entered the Tennis Europe Roehampton U14 Cat 1 event in 2 weeks time, which is also a qualifier for Wimbledon.

(1) Rhys Lawlor v (3) Pavana Nrshinga
Daniel Joita v (2) Leo Wright

Girls SF

(1) Hollie Smart v (8) Lara Savic
(7) Daniella Britton v (2) Edie Griffiths

Brilliant - had completely forgotten about this

Hope Megan is OK - she's two years younger than this lot and I see she had to retire after her first round win

Never heard of Lara Savic.....
