Which British Women's Player will win the most grass court season matches - 2023

So, following on from last year, the game is to predict which British players will win the most grass court matches, in singles main draw and also qualifying events.

POLL WILL CLOSE Sunday June 4th morning

Last season the final table was: 76 wins in total with a top 3 of

10 Jodie Burrage
9 Katie Boulter
7 Harriet Dart

In terms of predicting the player with the most wins, nobody got it right - Jodie had no supporters!!

I have listed below the events and the top 19 British players as of todays rankings (Emma excluded as we know she is out of the grass season) plus one AN Other in case you want to predict outside the top 19 players!. The poll will close in 2 weeks time today (Monday 5th June) - so vote for the player you think will get most qualies and main draw wins and let us know who you vote for!

Events - note list updated to reflect those Brits actually played in/could still play in

June 5-11 - Surbiton W100

June 12 - 18 - Nottingham WTA 250

Jun 22-23 - LTA Wild Card Play Off

Jun 19-25 - Birmingham WTA 250

Jun 19-25 - Gaiba WTA 125

Jun 19-25 - Ilkley W100

Jun 26 - 29 - Wimbledon Qualies

Jun 26- Jul 1 - Eastbourne WTA 500

Jul 3 - 16 - Wimbledon GS

I am going to go left field and bank on one of our juniors doing something special at the ITF level and qualies level this season - so I have voted AN Other and specifically my choice is Hannah Klugman

if or when you vote, please say who you vote for. This is a dual competition - to find our British player with the most wins on grass this summer AND to also crown the person who predicts the correct player!

6 votes on day one so far, Harriet leads the way as the boards favoured grass courter. So far at least.

Worth noting

Matches that move indoors count - it is the grass court season and that
Means lots of indoor play!

And retirement wins also count but walkover or byes dont !

If she's fit, it's Katie B for me.

I am tempted to gamble and go for Ranah Stoiber. She beat a number of good players on grass last year but it really depends on whether she is given WCs to qualifying or main draw events. If the former then she could stack up a lot of wins by the end of the season.

thanks Blue Belle. Quite a wide spread here so far, players largely at the top of the list as opposed to those who might come through qualies and pick up wins lower down.

I went for Jodie, just hope she is fit enough.
Could have gone for Katie B If she is fit enough or Katie S, if she is fit enough. I would have gone for Emma but she not fit at all!!!!

Wouldn't it be great if the British women could get a decent run of fitness
