Yes, it's obviously partly just character - she withdraws into herself - becomes more and more invisible on the court - it's tricky, isn't it? We say Jodie, for instance, gets too emotional and has a meltdown, can't see clearly, and sprays it; Hev gets too nervous and tight and pushes the ball; and Sonay has her own demons - she just puts up the shutters and resorts to sort of 'training everyday' tennis.

and I guess maybe I shouldn't knock them for being supportive but mixed feelings about the LTA's tweet:

"Sonay Kartal comes up short in Paris

Sonay loses out in a three-set
@rolandgarros
qualifying battle as Slovakian No.19 seed Viktoria Hruncakova takes it 2-6, 7-5, 6-4

A brilliant effort from Sonay in her first ever French Open qualifying match

Perhaps the LTA tweeter hadn't been following the match, and just was going by the final match score, and the relative experience level of the two players.

The Beeb have at least filled out a litle of the match detail ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/65674355 ) having had a day to do the research!

 Perhaps, yes...

But whereas I'd forgive the BBC reporter for doing that, what is an official LTA tweeter supposed to do apart from follow the tennis matches????

heck of a job though if that was the entirety of your job!! What would that pay per hour?!

To be honest, whoever it is, they should pay them a bit more !

Tennis Scotland do a great job with their tweets - whereas the LTA is blinkin' useless

Well done Harriet. Gutsy win, saves a break point and takes her second match point in a very even contest.

Well done, Harriet !

That was quite a struggle (when isn't it? )

But she did great

6-4 in the third

And she deserved the win - she was always on the front foot in the third

Katie lost 6-4 6-2

But unlike Sonay's, this was a good match, against a very decent player

I though Katie played some good attacking tennis

I couldn't find the match live stream on Amazon with the Discovery+ subscription, it's a complete shambles though probably I'm not understanding how the matches are organized, hopefully I'll be able to watch on catch up later.

I had it on the computer, just logging into Discovery+, and there's a long random list, left to right

Not sure about how it is on Amazon

Lily is now up and running 2-2

And Hev should be starting soon

Easy first set to Katie B

Lily lost the first set, not playing very well

Hev's is already tight.....
