Henry Searle starts his preparation for Roland Garros here. He has a tough draw though against an Italian who has just won a J200 in Italy without any extended sets to gain a Special Exempt
A good win today for Henry against the in-form Italian. It doesn't get any easier though, as he next plays the third seed (TWR16/ATP 1030). His match is 7th on

Henry's efforts here will take him above Oliver Bonding in the rankings as top British boy - particularly impressive to be doing so on clay (he already has a J300 semi on hard earlier in the year). Withdrawals mean he is now in the Roland Garros main draw. Although as Nix says he plays a qualifier, the standard is such here that JWR75 had to qualify. Despite his name Kaylan isn't particularly tall (5 ft 11 according to the ATP website)

Henry Searle d. (8) Kaylan Bigun (USA) 6-7(6) 6-4 6-1
Henry (as well as Charlie, Ella, Hannah K and Hep (who is in qualies)) all lined up to play in the big J500 in Milan next week. Good to see a good quota there ahead of the French.
