3rd counter for Lauryn ( and an increasingly good one ) so she will have a WTA singles ranking again

On 3 + 9 ( so far ) = 12 points

Plus there will be further new CHs for the also still involved Emily and Marni. currently showing as live ranked 430 and 437 respectively.

With their QF wins Emily and Marni are now live 414 and 424 respectively. And at least a further 12 points to come for one of them.

As the Old Faithful, indy and I have been waiting for this for Marni since the J30 Liverpool event when Marni and Emma Rad were both 13 ....

So good ro see it finally clicking and - huge fingers crossed- without injury issues

Poor Emily is down to play another doubles today - 3 full matches in one day seems a bit much.

Big congrats to Marni

Didn't see the match - was sure that Marni would win - but very pleased for Emily too - it's great to see her making her mark in singles

But, go Marni !

Emily commented on Instagram yesterday that it was a bit like County Week yesterday - three matches in one day and then playing afain the next.

(County Week usually consists of a six-team round robin doubles tournament played over five days, with each of three pairs in a team playing the three from the other team - making 15 matches in five days)

Rodinova just being a little too in your face for Marni, who doesn't quite know how to deal with it.

Pure question of experience.

Marni started really well. But Rod. decided to challenge some things, stop the play, shout, just rattle Marni a bit.

And it worked.

And Rod took the first et 6-4

But in terms of pure tennis, it's very close and Marni may possibly be ahead

I don't know how Marni lost the 1st set.
I think Rod is quite clever and Marni could learn a lot from her but in terms of tennis level Marni is capable of a lot in this sport
Really enjoying this match and hopefully Marni can win the decider.

I really enjoyed that match however it wasnt to be for Marni as she faded in the final set.
It would be good to see her go line a bit more as well as earlier in the point as she was a bit predictable with her cross courts for most of the match.
Its something Rod does well but if Marni could add this into her game then we will be seeing a lot more of this girl.
