So, there we are, all done and dusted and Fran Jones, for the 4th time, is our April 2023 Player of the Month.

Big congrats to her, and also to RU Hannah Klugman, and 3rd place goes to Dan Evans

42 votes, which means we have had 42, 44, 42 and 42 so far this year - consistent at least and thanks to everyone who voted!

Fran's 57% is one of the highest ever winning margins, although I would need to check back. Emma is certainly the highest in September 21, but not sure of many or any more that beat Fran's 57%

So, a few last second votes. We moved from 38 to 39 all day and then 3 near the end. What I dont know is where we would end up if I take this down to a 36 hour vote instead of 48. I suspect those who vote last minute plan it once they know the close time and, so, suspect they would still vote near the reduced last minute timescale.

As a trial, and to see if it makes any difference (lets face it with 42, 44, 42 and 42 so far this season, we know the benchmark!!) I will next month post the poll Sunday evening and close it around breakfast time Tuesday morning, as opposed to Tuesday evening.

I missed this one, unfortunately, though I'd have voted for Fran too. I see the LTA have started a player of the month vote (for LTA Advantage members) today - I wonder where they got that bright idea from ...

Their shortlists are:

Men - Dan Evans, Jan Choinski, George Loffhagen

Women - Jodie Burrage, Sonay Kartal, Fran Jones

I wonder if they'll get the same results (i.e. Dan for the men, Fran for the women)

Battle lines are drawn !! biggrin

Ha, cant imagine they took our idea, but you never know. I think ours will be more authentic though and drawn from a broader church of nominations as well!!
