Not funny, RainDelay, not funny nonono

To the wise and wonderful, so that's 5 points for Hannah, yes?

As is my habit I've just checked the odds for Klugman's match and she was 3.40 going in, which seems a bit harsh in retrospect.

Assuming thats betting odds? I guess as she hadnt played seniors they wouldnt really have had data in the system for it to predict much else?

Hannah is caught in the illogical WTA nonsense where she will have 5 WTA ranking points but on entry lists will still be behind players that have no WTA ranking points and have never even played in a main draw of any level because they have at least 1 ITF ranking point and she has none, and the WTA don't count a main draw win as worthy of a WTA ranking on its own. Let's hope she gets a couple more wins so this nonsense won't apply.

Isabelle Lacy has also withdrawn, so that's another of the wildcard possibilities ruled out.

I see Isabelle has pulled out of Aldershot next week. I wonder if that is because of injury or a Nottingham wildcard next week?

I only got 3.25, and that was yesterday, but my fiver did well  smile

I was expecting wider odds though, to be honest.

Although obviously everyone was of a smilar opinion....

Given Hannah will get LTA wildcards in the next couple of months, I don't think she'll have any trouble getting her three counters (or her 10 points, whichever comes sooner)

She won't be in the position of not qualifying even for qualis because she's got not ITF points (despite having WTA ones) which - as you say - is absurd.

With the bookies not interested in donating money, I believe they do employ real people who are allowed to make initial judgements on such as Hannah's true level and the starting odds  .It's not purely data driven.   eg. in football they would no doubt allow for a known weakened team.

Wish I had checked the odds. I would have stuck a 50p or two down on Hannah

Play is underway and Amarni is a break up on the 2nd seed in set 1, whilst Naiktha is an early break down.

Amarni won in straight sets. Naiktha has levelled her match at one set all.

Me too. Some really solid hitting and she didn't seem to be overawed at all playing someone a lot higher ranked.

Very good from Marni

I think so much potential for big rises up the rankings over the next year or two if she can stay fit and well.
