Zech had a tiny wobble right at the wrong moment - and nearly managed to rescue it but not quite

Well done to Ben

But well done to Zech too - lovely natural timing and feel on the ball, and relaxation through the shot

A very enjoyable match

Zech must be in with a good chance for a Wimbly junior qualis wildcard (Ben and Oli are now guaranteed them but I think both were pretty certain of them anyway). Not so sure about Alfie. Probabaly not. Will depend though on further results, and the grass events

Anybody know why Ben isnt at any of the national academies same with Oliver bonding ?

Oli served for the first set in the final but Ben retrieved the break and outmanoeuvred Oli in the tiebreak, taking it 7-2

Ben takes the first set 7-6. both players could have won that with ben having 4 break point in games he didnt win being 40-15. and bonding was 30-15 up at 5-4. honestly cant remember seeing a 16u boys final with this sort f quality

Ben is up a break at 2-1. had another break point to go up 3-0 but Bonding managed to serve it out

Ben needs to work on those drive volleys and overheads though - for such a natural ball player, he's not great at the net
