Thank you - are these indoor or outdoor - the lta page doesnt say , but has an outdoor picture? If so, thats risky in early April - its cold and hardly guaranteed to be dry?

It is an outdoor event - they can move indoors if necessary.

 Brrrr.

Is anyone able to remember who won the respective boys and girls under 16 and 18 titles last year? And was it played in previous years (I guess Im wondering if there is a honours board for past winners listed anywhere ?)

Thanks

Mimi Xu won both girls events last year. Luca Pow (U18) and Henry Searle (U16) the boys, but i don't know where you can find a honours board.  The competition dwindled in terms of top players in the last decade or so, until last year's introduction of wild card carrots

Thanks DavidC, no worries and am looking forward to these events. Was it last year or year before when they played these on grass at Surbiton?

Right, here goes, lists of winners from photos of lta honours boards on banners, photos taken at nationals in surbiton where it was held in 2021. May take a while to type in. Will do girls first then boys as next post.

Girls, u16,  2008 Jessica ren, 2009 Amy askew, 2010 Katy dunne, 2011 harriet dart, 2012 Lana rush, 2013 maia L, 2014 eden richardson, 2015 Emily appleton, 2016 Gemma heath, 2017 Erin richardson, 2018 Holly staff  2019 kristina paskauskas. Then covid hit 2020.

Girls u18, 08 tara moore  09 jocelyn rae, 10 pippa horn, 11ruth seaborne, 12 Beth askew,  13 Beth askew, 14 jasmine asghar, 15 l-j baptiste, 16 megan Davies, 17 lilian mould, 18 Holly staff, 19 Grace piper. (Wimbledon Wc of some sort were on offer 2019 but not used due to covid finishing off 2020 wimbledon, as national were in August 19 so wc for following year). Apologies for any typos  I know some known by different name since winning  eg Askew.

As far as I know yes, you are correct about Beth Askew now known as Beth Grey.  No idea about Amy askew, others on here probably will know.

Certainly there's a 'Little Women' trend in those names - probably two other sisters called Meg and Jo somewhere hidden away

Beth had a brother who played a couple of pro tournaments, but a don't remember a sister and I met the family a few times at Wirral.

I overheard Beth mention at Wimbledon qualies last year that she is one of 7 siblings. Good of her Dad to have a hobby.
