The last few months for Hep have been worrying. She seems to have stalled quite abruptly.
Do you reckon? But she just did really well, making the finals of the J200 event - and cracking the top-60 in ITF rankings. I would have said that was doing good
BUT it was a really weird perfromance today....... 'if I can't win easily, I don't want to have to work for it' sort of performance
Indeed, and anyway I can't bring myself to get worried by any short term results for a 15 yo. The biggest thing to me will remain the indications of their top level.
Mika has lost 4 games in 4 sets in reaching the semis. Hannah K is the only seeded player left in , FWIW from the discussion above. Tegan Bush beat Ciara Moore just now

I do think a little yes. She made the final of the J200 by beating players ranked in the 300s and 400s - 345, 404, 348, 218. In fact, she hasn't beaten anyone ranked inside the top 200 this year and lost comprehensively to anyone ranked inside the top 200.
Perhaps her fast rise is catching up to her a little, and it's just going to take a moment of adjustment.
Also hoping for a Mika/Hannah finale. I've only watched Hannah a couple of times on stream, never in person, but to me she looks like the best junior prospect we've had in a long time. The serve and rally tolerance for a girl her age is very advanced.
Would love to see her get a wildcard for a 25k event later in the year.

I think that's extremely likely
Julia Stusek (2008) got several last year (similar sort of profile).
It'll be a good story for the LTA, for the press etc.
Play just been suspended but liked what I saw from Lois Newberry; a nice backhand, good composure after recovering the break, decent serve, although not really on the same level as Klugman. The rain intervention is very fortunate for Mika, because Lois had all the momentum at that stage of the match.
I still think it is ridiculous playing outdoors in a serious event this time of year in the UK.
Anyone remember the old British Hard Courts Champs in Bournemouth on clay, red shale in fact. Was in April during the 80's and players had snow, rain, trackies on

I think it's great they play outdoors.
What's the problem? The've got tons of indoor courts 50 yards away. They've had great weather all week apart from today. Tomorrow's set to be fair. Outdoors is far nicer for spectators - far better viewing - healthier - more like the summer events that are coming up - it's perfect - and just move it inside if it rains, takes 10 mins
