Week 12 - ATP Challenger 75 - Les Franqueses del Vallès, Spain (hard)

Unless Jay gets points soon, he will lose many points in the next 5 weeks and drop down to around 550 - urgent few weeks ahead

It seems something really has clicked:

SF:  (Q) Billy Harris WR 373 defeated (1) Max Purcell (AUS) WR 99 by 7-6(3) 7-6(4)  ban-woohoo.gif

Hard fought!

What a week! What a win! What must be a first win against a top 100 player. And should get an SE for Lille next week.

Amazing !

And, so sorry, Billy - I took my bets off at the end of the first set - cashed in and thought 'not sure he'll be able to see this through....'

Got that wrong !

great win and , not wanting to be a downer, but it looks like a result that reflects Krutykh not being completely at the races for whatever reason?

Nonetheless, good to see this result!

And / or Billy suddenly being very much at the races

I guess we will see as the week unfolds !

Indeed  biggrin

Wonderful stuff, Billy     All the best for the final.

Billy is another workhorse here for us Tennis fans who might never hit the dizzy heights of the top 100 (who knows) but still shows it's never too late to get your ranking to a new high. He is in touching distance now of getting back inside the 300 mark and a new high. Love these lower ranked success stories where the spotlight never shines enough on them in my opinion. Fingers crossed for both Billy and Liam tomorrow.

Final ( biggrin ):  (Q) Billy Harris WR 373 vs (2) Hugo Grenier (FRA) WR 146 (CH = 95 last September)

Grenier's young Chinese opponent kept him on court for three sets & three hours & 25 minutes!  For the record, Billy was on court for two hours & 26 minutes in his match.
