Week 12 - ATP Challenger 75 - Les Franqueses del Vallès, Spain (hard)

Its also a challenger 100 rather than a 75. Not sure if that makes a difference

Not according to the ATP, it isn't.

I think they mean next week Lille is a Challenger 100 rather than this weeks event.

Ah, OK, thank you.  That possibility didn't actually cross my mind!

SF:  (1) Max Purcell (AUS) WR 99 (CH = 95 at the start of this month) vs (Q) Billy Harris WR 373

The Spanish wild card, Jordà, nearly took Purcell to a third set...

I thought Billys first match reflected not so much on him as his opponent. Billys form had hardly suggested an early win like that could happen. But the fact hes repeated it and lost 8 games in 6 sets is, frankly, stunningly impressive

Billy's up to live 331 according to Live Tennis.eu

One more win and right on the 300 and also above Jay by a point.

Definitely go Billy!

What a backhand that was from Billy at 4-3* 30-30. Even the ball girl was clapping.

Billy breaks and is serving for the set.

Didn't hold on that occasion but after a really battling performance, he takes the set on a TB.

Go Billy.

Purcell has 18 straight challenger wins, this looks impressive by Billy. Where has this come from?

Didn't this happen with Billy before - he was trundling along in ITFs, not being unsuccessful, but not outstanding and then he notched up a level and was in reach of Challengers, lets hope this is another notch up for him smile
