OK, I realise people will think we're soon going to be reporting on babes in their cradles with dangly tennis ball mobiles, BUT:

There's an U12 Category 1 event in Slovakia this week

Category 1 is obviously the top (I don't think there is a Super U12 category, like there is for the U14s - David or someone will let me know if I've got it wrong)

Certainly category 2 and 3 are far less important

Anway, the point being we have three pretty high-profile GB girls in the semis:

Ingrid Dimitru (born 2011 and the GB U11 national champion last year - she is a qualifier here and has worked her way through the main draw, barely losing more than a game here and there)
Liv Zingg (2011 and one of the LTA elite for teams etc)
Yanziye Zhang (2011 and the runner-up at the GB U11 national championships last year)

We also had a reasonable turn-out in the boys but they went out in the QFs

El Salvador, J60:

Athina Schlepphorst posted an excellent win, 6-1 6-0, over the 3rd seed and is into the semis

This is her best result yet in a J60/J4 event

(She does have her J5 finalist place from last year coming off at the end of the month, though)

In the Croatian U12 Cat 1 event, it was the cruellest of margins - but the crowd noise for the home girl must have been amazing:

Liv Zingg (GBR) LOST TO Romana Dekanova (CRO) 5-7 6-4 7-6(7)

As consolation, though, Liv and Ingrid won the doubles title
