A struggle for Hannah, over the 17 year-old, but she managed to squeak the second, and then it was more plain-sailing:

(2) Hannah Klugman def. Tilda Hessleryd (SWE) 4-6 7-5 6-1

I saw a little bit of Henry's match (he lost 2 & 3)

Henry has a very imposing physique, it may well stand him in good stead going forward, but he suffers at the moment ....

Hannah Rylatt came through 6-2 2-6 6-4

Very close at the end. Saw the last couple of games....didn't seem a lot in it.

Luca Pow lost in three, though

Again, only saw five minutes, not enough to say....but obviously disappointing given Luca was third seed

Gabia also lost in 3. The player who beat Luca is the nephew of former ATP top 50 player Andreas Vinciguerra.

Hannah Klugman made light work of that match, winning 6-1 6-1

Given is in a dog-fight - won the first 6-4 but lost the second in a tie-break. Had to get the umpire on at one stage (no idea why but doesn't suprise me)

ADD: But gets a nice win in the end (trusting the scoreboard, which seems to come and go rather)

Very nice result for Given

Excellent from Given. I think it's the first time she's got this far in a J200 (old J2) tournament.

Yes - she played and won the British Tour event at Gosling just a day or so before this event - must have been good practice for her

Hannah Rylatt lost in two sets

Poor Charlie got pipped, I think, in a third-set tiebreak

Nice to see him play though - first time for me - there's no getting round it, he's very slight, and short, for a 16 year-old boy tennis player. But kids do grow at different times. Or not... Nice ball skills though, sees the trajectory very well, dynamic, good racket relaxation....
