Hannah Klugman has just turned 14, so she can start her annual quota of junior ITFs afresh (and up to 8 Women's ITFs before her 15th birthday), and she is seeded 2 here. A large British contingent here includes Charlie Robertson, winner of 2 consecutive J100 events

(8) Anastasia Bozova (POL) v Given Roach
Emilija Pranyte (LTU) v (2) Hannah Klugman
Hannah Klugman made light work of that match, winning 6-1 6-1
Given is in a dog-fight - won the first 6-4 but lost the second in a tie-break. Had to get the umpire on at one stage (no idea why but doesn't suprise me)
ADD: But gets a nice win in the end (trusting the scoreboard, which seems to come and go rather)
Very nice result for Given

Poor Charlie got pipped, I think, in a third-set tiebreak
Nice to see him play though - first time for me - there's no getting round it, he's very slight, and short, for a 16 year-old boy tennis player. But kids do grow at different times. Or not... Nice ball skills though, sees the trajectory very well, dynamic, good racket relaxation....
