Boys & Girls: J30 Liverpool, GB - hard, indoor (Week 7)

The second leg in Liverpool....

BOYS

Ilias is top seed again. But Jack Curtis has turned up for second seed place.

Last week's winner Jay Johnson-Hauldren is in the draw again.

Will be interested to see how (wc) Jesse Clarkson (age 14) gets on - he's raised a fair bit of interest

GIRLS

THe top two seeds are (qc) Isabella Wong and Amelie Brooks

Maria Ustic is here this week too, as third seed

The GB winner and runner-up from last week carried on where they left off, with a win for Seb and for Jay (over the 5th seed)

Lovely to see Jesse C get his first ever point - as said above, an interesting young player

Well done to young Letitia Romanova (age 14), who I've mentioned before here, who took out the second seed very easily.

And 14 year-olds Sophia Christodoulou, and Isabella Walker, who also got wins

As well as Daisy Carpenter (Q) who beat the top seed

Jakob Bonnett is really having a eureka moment - completely unranked and never having played a single ITF event last week - then made the semis of the J30 Liverpool 1

Today, he's gone one step further (and counting) and made the final, taking out the top seed, in two sets

Boys' Final:

Jakob Bonnett v Conor Flynn

Girls' Final:

Maria Ustic v Jaquelyn Ogunwale

 Brilliant. Thanks, Nix

I always love it when someone comes out of absolutely nowhere (as in, never played any ITF, nor British Tour, I think)

When he says he 'hits' four times a week, I wonder if that is just with Kyle Rae, as friends and hitting partners? Or actual training with Mark Taylor?

But good luck to him, he's born 2005, so not a 'youngster', but great to suddenly hit the ground running
