Gordon is down a set, Alfie up and cruising though. But again, the big story is Andy Lapthorne who is leading by a set and up 3-0 in the second versus third seed and doubles partner, Ramphadi.
Massively impressive event so far for Andy, hope he sees this match through
Alfie and Gordon lost in 2 long sets! Quite a surprise. Both in singles. Players that beat them include Houdet- he has now beaten the singles top seed, Oda, and now the doubles top seeds. Quite a tournie for him! Hes aged 52!
Ah, I forgot to scroll down for the doubles result. I was so pleased and surprised to see that Gordon had won!
Let's be having a singles champion please!
I've just spotted that there's a junior wheelchair event at the US Open. Is this the first time? I don't recall anything before, but maybe I'm just unobservant!

Just seen that also and I think it is. We have Dahnon Ward in the boys singles and Dahnon with Joshua Johns in the boys doubles. All draws are 4 strong fields , ie 2 rounds of play. Still, good to see.
when it comes to wheelchair play, Wimbledon is a little way behind still
Gordon has won two slam titles in his career; Alfie 8. Alfie is defending champion in New York, Gordon hasnt won a slam since 2016, 7 years, and never won the US Open.
