2023 Rankings

From what I can tell, in the girls rankings, Mimi is still just ahead of Hannah, by approx 70 point as of today.

Mimi, however, loses around 240 points next week when her points from Merida 2022 come off (150 for singles and 375/4 for doubles). So she will drop a fair way back behind Hannah. Mimi, also, isnt playing in any of the North American events so wont replace those points whereas Hannah is playing and could improve.

It looks to me as if Hannah is 99% certain to be top junior girl come the end of the season

Which for a 14 year old feels very impressive; plus she led for a lot of the season before Mimi recently took top spot for a month or two.

And I realise it doesnt really matter, but still felt worthy of noting.

Or maybe I have completely misunderstood!

Oli Bonding jumps up 10 places.
It's a very strong boys showing, especially as all those lads will still be juniors next year.
(Often GB has only a couple of players in the boys' top-100, and nearly always at the upper end of the age range)

Yeah, like the list, paulisi, it's pretty impressive

When I look back at previous years' lists, we've hardly ever had so many boys in the top-100, and doing well

(It doesn't change anything really but Ben would count as 15th because there's a 2008 player ahead of him, and the 2008s have to be counted for Carrier too)

I'm particularly impressed with Charlie's rise, because he sort of came from nowhere and didn't have any LTA backing for a long time. And Viktor has had what I would call an 'interesting' pathway too - he wasn't the easiest youngster. It's great to see different approaches all working out.

I filtered on year group, so data should be fairly accurate and not include younger players...

Yes, but you have to include the younger ones to know where a player sits in the world order.

If there are 2008 players better ranked than a 2007-er, you can't just look where that player comes in the 2007 list, he has to be behind the 2008s (and 2009s etc) in terms of his world ranking for age.

Yes.

Ranah is born 2005

So, in one months time, she'll not be a junior any more and will be done with junior tennis, whether she likes it or not.

Mimi will most definitely continue to play some junior tennis - she has two more years of juniors left.
