The first round in the boys went very much according to rankings

The only exception was Fabio Nestola losing to a qualifier

Not the greatest of days for the girls

A big mention for Hannah Rylatt who beat Gabia Paskauskas

However, Ellie Blackford, seeded two, was beaten in two sets.

Allegra K Davies (7th seed) was beaten in three

Brooke Black lost too

Disappointing for some of these results indeed. Good win for Mika though beating a top 500 player 6-0 6-0 and still only 13 herself.

Nice way to end the season for the girls and the boys with at least a semifinal or a final of a J3. Good luck to all.

Very pleased that two of our best 2007-ers have made the girls' final (and both winning their semis in two sets)

I really enjoyed watching Ruby at the National Championships this year, in April, and commented on her qualities, as one to follow, she was way more interesting than some of the better known names

With Hep and Mimi leading the way, we have an excellent 2007 cohort

Interestingly, although both Dani and Ruby are very similarly ranked, their points profiles are completely different

Ruby has all her points from top-ranking events, J1s, 2s and 3s

Obviously, this is mainly losses quite early one (or else she'd be a lot higher ranked) - there's one SF and a couple of QFs there.

Daniela has most of her points from J4s and even a J5

As such, she's a far better record at the business end of the events - two titles, a RU place.....

Good luck to both of them in the final

Not unexpectedly, Henry won the boys singles final pretty easily

The girls was a lot tighter, with Ruby winning in three sets

A really strong finish to the season for Henry, who will be comfortably inside the top 100 when the 2004s drop off.
