i realise I have asked this before, in past years, but humour me and remind me, which Brits have won singles or doubles titles in the NCAA event? Div 1?
Paul Jubb, obviously. But have we other winners that anyone can list, singles and doubles?

Thank you!
On Jubb's LTA profile, they say he was the first Brit to win the esteemed title.

Really?
I had a look at wiki and here is the link to the list of mens individual and team champs
Indeed, Paul seems to be the only Brit winner, singles or doubles (although 2023 results arent mentioned and I cant recall what happened last year, but dont think we won a title)
The womens list is also linked below and I cant see any British winners (and it does include 2023 winners in this list)
So, indeed, it seems it is just Paul Jubb. It seems like this is a year when someone else could challenge for one of the titles, although it wont be easy!
Wondering about the implications for non revenue sports (especially mens tennis) of a revenue sharing plan involving players in the SEC and Big10.
Guess one potential impact is that the RSP could lead to more resources and funding being allocated to high-profile sports like football and basketball, which generate the most revenue. This could potentially result in less resources being available for non-revenue sports like men's tennis, many of which already operate on limited budgets.
Additionally, the introduction of a RSP could potentially widen the financial gap between high-profile sports and non-revenue sports. This could result in fewer opportunities for athletes in non-revenue sports to compete at the collegiate level, as universities may prioritise funding for revenue-generating sports over non-revenue sports
PS glad that the College chat is thriving Really enjoying your insights DannyT and Lamda, still a few familiar names - mostly Senior and Grad students now
Im not an expert in the funding issues you raise but I do find the case about Womens tennis student athletes prize money and image rights which ha been brought by Reese Brantmeier of reigning NCAA champions UNC to be a very important one. Its about time college tennis moved out of the dark ages.

Fantastic for Johannus and great to have 5 in the top 20. Big chance for an NCAA singles champion ?
Fantastic season for Millie too in the women to go into NCAAs ranked #2 and good to have 3 in the top 30 !

Thanks for reply, as you indicate, many will be waiting on the outcome of this case and its potential to reshape college sports
From my understanding (I have no legal training ) the class action raised by University of North Carolina womens tennis Reese Brantmeier, sheds light on the need for drastic changes in the NCAAs rules regarding prize restrictions for student-athletes. The NCAA's current rules prohibit student-athletes from accepting cash awards, bonuses, and other monetary prizes from non-NCAA competitions, creating an unfair and anticompetitive environment. Think Reese could collect only $10k and lost out on $35k
By challenging the NCAA's restrictions and seeking to "lift the veil of hypocrisy," (section 13) Reeses class action highlights the importance of holding the NCAA accountable and pushing for reform in order to create a more just and equitable playing field for all student-athletes. Her complaint brings attention to the disparity in treatment between student-athletes in non-revenue individual sports like tennis and those in revenue-generating sports like football and mens basketball.
Allegedly the NCAA is involved in a barrage of other legal battles.
