A stronger field for the Mexican Grade A event, which means Ella McDonald drops down to 4th seed (top seed in the Grade 1). Phoenix Weir, Henry Searle and Imogen Haddad are the only Brits on today's schedule Mimi Xu has a tough looking draw against a girl who played Kaitlin Quevedo (last week's winner) in a couple of finals over the summer, winning one and losing one. Isabelle Lacy will play Kaitlin in round 2 if both win their openers.
A worrying fourth consecutive defeat at Grade 2 level or higher for Phoenix, all against players of similar or lower ranking.

Pity about Imogen Haddad, a few wins at these Mexican tournaments might have pushed her towards a qualifying place for AO, assuming she would have wanted to take part.
It's difficult to know from bits and pieces but Henry was very impressive at the start of the year, in the UK event when he so nearly beat Damm. He's had a few less impressive looking results in juniors since then. But the Damm match sticks in my mind - got good hopes for him.
Isabelle loses 6-3 6-1 in the second round. Ella goes through 6-1 6-4 and Mimi goes through in three sets 4-6 6-1 6-4.
Luca 6-& 6-2 against the second seed.
