Week 45 - 2022 BJK Cup Finals - Glasgow, UK, Indoor Hard

I said to the wife at the start of the tie break if Heather gets broken on the first point she will lose the tie break, and so it proved, Storm so tenacious she was never going to let go of that lead.

What a pity. Storm played a good match and that waa good enough against today's Heather. You'ed take a match against Storm Saunders in a BJK Cup SF every day of the week - very winnable and whether Heather or Katie it was a match that probably needed to be won.

I'm quite interested to see how Alja deals with the situation today. She has the ability to blow Harriet off the court in 50minutes but could also be a complete mess.

Dig in Harriet.

The atmosphere is much louder and livelier for Harriet's much.

She seems to be playing well,

Lordy, what a horror of a smash miss from Ajla

Couldn't find the first serves when she needed them. Ajla hitting the ball better as this set has gone on.

5-4*

Close but no cigar. Had a set point, and really did everything right in that game I think.

*5-5

Yes, I agree. Of course there are a couple of shots you'd like back but that goes for Ajla too

Overall, Harriet's playing really well

Great tiebreak. Ajla hits such a huge ball but Harriet is countering so well - constructing the points with real clarity. Very shaky double half way through from the Aussie helped a bit!

Yes, an inspired tie break from the feisty, aggressive Harriet. Let's try not to think about the result of their previous two meetings where Harriet also won the first set.

I wasn't until you mentioned it there.

C'mon Harriet. Different time, different place ...

Harriet doing really well. I wish she'd move forward more confidently, but so far so good!
