Boys & Girls: J5 Liverpool - hard (Week 45)

First round starts tomorrow and is played at the same time as a Tennis Europe comp, hence no qualifying

There is a J4 next week

Will struggle to get down this week, but hoping to see some play next week.

Looks like a very late finish - trying to get two comps through at the same time.

Good win for Tegan Bush.

GB's Leonidas Lazarides put out the foreign top seed in the first day of play earlier today

Wildcard Sophia Christodoulou (age 14) also beat her Irish opponent

And wildcard Tegan Bush (age 14) also put out 8th seed, Amalia Widdowson

The girls R1 matches finished with the other wins of note being Sirena Waas who beat GB's Scarlett Perkins, third seed; and young unranked Leticia Romanova, who beat the 4th seed, a top-900 player from Ireland

In the boys, no other major upsets - but congrats to Enrico Franchi who beat his Lithuanian opponent in a thrid-set tie-break, 7-6(3)

Tegan Bush won very easily. Going well for a wildcard.
I stuck my head in at 7pm, but everything had finished.

I will try and get down Sunday, but not sure if it will be in time for the final.

The TE event finishes tomorrow
Billy Moxon v Leo Wright
Celine Ricaud v Estonian

BOYS

Two wins, two losses with Ilias Worthington and Aaron Dawson through to the singles SFs

GIRLS

Amelie Brooks has beaten the top seed who plays for the USA

And Maria Ustic is also into the SFs (Lucia and Sophia K lost)

The result of Tegan v Mia is still to come

Tegan and Mia's match was a three-set epic

With Tegan just pipping it at the end, 7-6(6)

Into the semis - and a great week for her, born in 2008, just turned 14, playing only her third event
