RE: 2022 November Player of the Month Nominations Thread

Depending on the nomination list make up, and numbers, I can decide at my own discretion to introduce semifinal groups to at least solve the initial clash where a player might be conflicted in terms of votes - although it still wouldnt solve a clash in the final if both got through .

But lets see where we get too over the next couple of weeks.

As an aside , when it comes to player of the season, a team could be in that if they qualify through the PoM votes or through the wild card vote. Although over a whole season, its going to be full of pretty good competition this year!

ps I hope that gobbledygook makes sense above! Hahaha

Nominations

1. Matthew Rankin - for making it on to the WR rankings for the first time with a L32 in in Egypt, and still a junior.
2. Jamie Murray - for reaching the milestone of 500 wins on the ATP Tour with his victory today in Paris.
3. Will Jansen - reversing the result last week and taking out the No.2 seed, then consolidating with another straight sets win to make the SF, done whilst still a junior (GB's top ranked junior currently); won the M15 Kuwait doubles title
4. Lloyd Glasspool - for reaching the World Tour Finals for the first time and, in the process, reaching the semis in Paris Masters this week with wins over Dan, Jamie and their respective partners
5. Eliz Maloney - for reaching the Shrewsbury W100 QF beating WR 150 and then giving WR 49 a very decent match, helping her move into the top 400 in both singles and doubles.
6. Sarah Tatu - 17 year old reached the QF in Castellon W15 as an unranked qualifier
7. Neal Skupski - Winner of the Paris Masters guaranteeing being part of the Nș1 pair for the entire season and reaching the WR1 spot (albeit shared).
8. Toby Samuel - winner of USA M15, will enter the GB top 25 and probably overall top 600 from only 6 counters.
9. Alicia Barnett & Olivia Nicholls - outstanding couple of Billie Jean King Cup Finals wins, the second one clinching GB's place in the SF.

10. BJK GB Team - Outstanding 3-0 victory over Spain being under dogs and first time since 1981 in the semi finals.

Whoever nominated Toby may need to go into the latest version and edit his narrative if they can! When the week is done of course ! Might go for a few entries in fact

Suspect Eliz narrative could do with a small upgrade as well as Toby. Anyone able to do the honours?

btw - Indi and Rich - let you guys decide if youre happy with the nominations of the team and the doubles pair of the team or if you feel a little adjustment is required on either side ? Ie two nominations or one?

If you go to one BJK nomination it has to be the team. If you go to two I'll add in Harriet Dart for two outstanding wins this week.

Personally I'd go for all three, so I'll let you decide.

Nominations

11. Harriet Dart - for two outstanding wins playing at no 1 for GB in the BJK cup

Well three have been put forward so Ill stick with it unless someone pulls their nomination out. No need to re post the list; Ill let the next poster pick it up but also ask if they can update the Eliz and Toby narratives whilst at it.

ill decide how to do the voting once the month end is nearer, but probably will need some groups to avoid votes getting watered down through the duplication . Although it Will be inevitable in the final

Toby yes has won this week's USA M15 doubles title but he is also in the singles final. So I'll wait to see how that pans out before updating.

Plan in place for voting now - 3 groups in semis vote, and then a final. Quite excited to see where it all plays out - and imagine we will have some more nominations coming for sure over the next two weeks or so.
