cant recall a single week with 8 nominations before, let alone a first week in the month!

Nominations

1. Matthew Rankin - for making it on to the WR rankings for the first time with a L32 in in Egypt, and still a junior.
2. Jamie Murray - for reaching the milestone of 500 wins on the ATP Tour with his victory today in Paris.
3. Will Jansen - reversing the result last week and taking out the No.2 seed, then consolidating with another straight sets win to make the SF, done whilst still a junior (GB's top ranked junior currently); won the M15 Kuwait doubles title
4. Lloyd Glasspool - for reaching the World Tour Finals for the first time and, in the process, reaching the semis in Paris Masters this week with wins over Dan, Jamie and their respective partners
5. Eliz Maloney - for reaching the Shrewsbury W100 QF beating WR 150 and then giving WR 49 a very decent match, helping her move into the top 400 in both singles and doubles.
6. Sarah Tatu - 17 year old reached the QF in Castellon W15 as an unranked qualifier
7. Neal Skupski - Winner of the Paris Masters guaranteeing being part of the Nº1 pair for the entire season and reaching the WR1 spot (albeit shared).
8. Toby Samuel - winner of USA M15, will enter the GB top 25 and probably overall top 600 from only 6 counters.

Bumping this with a reminder, as we hit business end of week, that weve just about hit halfway in this months nominations. Dont know about you, I cant wait for the vote this month and player of the season, and then its Xmas!

I thought it might be a quiet week but some big performances coming through this week in Glasgow and in Milan as well.

I thought about nominating our Billie Jean King Cup team but I reckon that would just confuse things?

But as an aside , we did have a team nomination once when this first started and the girls team won the under 12 tennis Europe event, I think CD nominated them at the time. They didnt win PoM but did get nominated

I believe BJK GB girls team for their fabulous victory over Spain. Clearly all working well as one United team with Anne K doing a fab job and finally the first time since 1981 our girls have reached the semi finals stage. Proud moment for GB women's tennis and who knows, the event is not yet over. They deserve to be in the line up.

You can nominate them Rich ! Just copy the current list above , add their name as a team and a bit of supporting narrative and paste a new list !

Go for it. My concern at the mement would be a split vote with Lissey & Liv in there too in the one round winner voting system

But depending on how things transpire from now the way to go may become clearer .

Depending on the nomination list make up, and numbers, I can decide at my own discretion to introduce semifinal groups to at least solve the initial clash where a player might be conflicted in terms of votes - although it still wouldnt solve a clash in the final if both got through .

But lets see where we get too over the next couple of weeks.

As an aside , when it comes to player of the season, a team could be in that if they qualify through the PoM votes or through the wild card vote. Although over a whole season, its going to be full of pretty good competition this year!
