Time for a vote.  Who will be the next PM.

Note: this is 'who will be' not 'who do you think should be.

I know Hunt has already ruled himself out, but given the current Tory Party record on rapid U-turns, I thought I would leave him in there anyway.

I have put a 5 day limit on the vote as they have said that we will know who it is by this time next week.

 Don't know where you saw that Bob, but this is from the BBC about 10 minutes ago

"Sir Graham Brady has confirmed that Tory party members will have a say in the new Conservative leadership race - if it comes down to two candidates.

If the MPs somehow united around one candidate, that may not happen, he suggested, saying: "If there is only one candidate, then there is only one candidate."

But this outcome seems unlikely given some of the factions within the party."

I have thought about adding to the current Player of the Month (PoM) votes with a Prime Minister of the Month (PMoM). At the end of the year, we could have a PMoY vote.

Could be quite exciting

Hunt has said he won't be standing. Which is sensible, from his perspective (tactically). Whichever PM arises, he wont have stood against them so can retain the Chancellor position and not be seen as a threat or adversary

Given all the resignations from ministerial roles in the dying days of Boris leadership, how on earth could any of them have the gall to serve under him if he got in again. I think its a busted flush. Whoever gets in will have the majority of mps against them. They would lose an election but they should have dignity as a party, agree to serve time in opposition and build their party again. I should say Im not a Tory, never have been , if anything Im Lib Dem, and Id vote them where I live as they are the only ones who could topple the Tory MP.

Mr Sunak - more out of hope than judgement, because he is the only person in the Conservative party that I would trust not to have screwed up by next Tuesday.

It should he Sunak but I suspect it may he Mordaunt and I've gone for it being her.

Maybe Ben Wallace if he went for it / was persuaded this time.

Choosing Johnson would be a huge risk by the Tory Party.

During the first two weeks in Nov, he is subject to the Privileges Committee investigation as to whether he mislead the HoC. If found guilty and suspended for 10 days, this would be enough to permit a recall challenge in his constituency where a 10% petition calling for his resignation would trigger a by-election.
