Thanks all. Just had breakfast but thats it for today eating wise. The thought of 24 hours with no food is more worrying than the operation.

15.30 hrs here. Still no op. Waiting on approval from insurance company. Been told that if it hasnt arrived by 16.00 hrs, they will cancel today and reschedule for tomorrow.

The good news is that they can do the op under a local anaesthetic and no need for a general. Cant understand though why if it is only a local, they wont let me eat or drink. Gasping right now.

Pretty sure the eating and drinking rules dont apply in the UK for LA. Hopefully theyll get you a cup of tea or something when its finished!

Op done. They tell me, successfully. Was a complete rupture but high up near the calf muscle which apparently is more unusual. Thanks again for all the best wishes. Home tomorrow, hopefully.
