OK. I have decided to try and drag my aging limbs through another 12 month exercise challenge in 2023.  On this occasion, the motivation will not be weight loss as I'm pleased to report that although my weight has gone back up a little since I finished my last challenge, I am still happy with it where it is. So I need another motivation. I go public with these projects because if I did them privately, 'just for me', and didn't tell anyone, I can guarantee that within a week of starting, I would give up.

On this occasion therefore, I have decided to do this one for charity but with a slight difference. In the past, I have done similar challenges for large charities such as Cancer Research but this time I want to focus on smaller charities.  I understand that for so many people these are difficult times financially but it seems to me that as a result of this, the smaller charities suffer more than the bigger ones, despite offering sometimes life saving help to local communities.

The physical side of the challenge will be to complete in a calendar year:

  1. Bike: 6,000km  (combination of Mountain Bike and Exercise Bike)
  2. On Foot: 2,500km  (combination of walking and plodding)
  3. Gym Reps: 365,000  (combination of upper body, core, leg exercises)

The plan is to dedicate each month of the challenge to a different charity.  I have a few in mind, but this is where I need your help to identify 12 charities that I can support over the year.

Do you have a local charity that needs assistance ?  As I intend to run this through JustGiving.com they need to be a fully registered charity that is able to receive funds through this portal.  I am looking for anything from small mental health charities to local food banks to support for the homeless.

If you have such a charity that you endorse/support and you think it is worthy of my consideration, please could you pass me the details.

Thank you all, as always.

Done.

Three days off now before I go again in 2024 - and if you believe that, you'll believe anything wink
