The two singles finals are set. In the boys the impressive 16 year old Spaniard Martin Landaluce takes on Gilles Arnaud Bailly of Belgium while in the girls Alexandra Eala of Philippines (WTA297) plays French Open champion Lucie Havlickova of the Czech Republic (WTA 577)
In the doubles Ranah and Mia were often under pressure on serve in the second set, saving 4 breakpoints, but eventually they were broken at 5-5, just after their solitary breakpoint (and matchpoint) - thwarted by a good service. The German girls then held to take the second set 7-5 (which is fair given the play in the set) so a match tiebreak will decide
In the girls singles Alex Eala became the first Filipino Junior Grand Slam winner with a straightforward 6-2 6-4 win. The boys' final was closer, with Martin Landaluce taking the first set on the tiebreak, before Gilles Bailly hit back to win the second 7-5. However the Spaniard ran away with the third 6-2, thus becoming the second consecutive Spanish winner here (after Daniel Rincon).
There was British joy in the inaugural Junior Wheelchair Grand Slams (8 draw singles). Ben Bartram won the boys event, beating compatriot Dahnon Ward. Ben was also the first player to win a junior WC grand slam match and the pair are on course to add the doubles title, leading 6-4 5-2 Ruby Bishop is currently on court in the girls junior wheelchair doubles final

How do you mean? The wheelchair juniors? I think its great someone has covered it here. And great results for British juniors.
I often cover wheelchair play in its own thread but Im glad someone has raised it in a more main stream thread, thanks DavidC.
I thought that all our players were out and hadn't heard of Ben and Dahnon. Checked the US Open site and then saw Indiana's post and it all clicked into place.
