August 2022 British Player of the Month Vote

Winning a WTA 250 has to be worth celebrating. Perhaps if they win they might get a wild card for Wimbledon 2023.

Worthy of a reminder that the top 2 in the PoM votes go through to the player of the season vote as of right.

So Lissey and Liv look art fair. Katie, Dan and Anna are not qualified so whoever comes second will make the year end final.

I find it very interesting that neither Joe nor Neal, who each won a Masters 1000 tournament, have managed to muster a single vote between them, whereas Alicia and Olivia are attracting huge support for winning a WTA 250 event. It makes me wonder if the forum member have lower expectations of the ladies? Incidentally I voted for Katie as I was so pleased to see her back fit and winning a tournament again.

 Hi SuperT- its a fair point. I voted relative to my expectations of them and whether they had shone beyond their previous achievements which Joe and Neal arguably matched but didnt beat. Mind you, I tend to vote for the men, just that Lissey and Liv stood out for me this time. 

I guess a lot of folks dont vote in absolute terms ie the best performance as opposed to vote relatively. Ie compared to the players normal level? 

anyway, 32 votes in now!
