Girls: 2022 Wimbledon (Week 27)

Hannah was on the court for nearly 90 mins, she played some really good tennis, but Li deserved to win

But Hannah has five more junior wimbledons to come - it was an excellent performance for someone age 13

Hope she enjoyed it

And hope she gets a play in the doubles

Shame - Sofia had points to go up *6-5 in the second, with the Canadian second seed looking really a bit rattled

But she ended up losing the set easily 5-7

You're right about the serve CD, it's really let her down and put way too much pressure on her. Mboko ran away with the final set but I cant help but feel that Sofia would have won in two sets if her serve had been more robust, as she always looked like she could win points once she got into a rally.

Looks like Ranah has had to pull out. There's a lucky loser playing the first seed. Shame for Ranah.

Really close for Hep - lost the third set 4-6

But pleased that at least one out of the two came through - well done to Mimi

5 girls likely to be the count in round 2 - substantially above the boys.

Not so fast - the third set might be a step too far but little Dani P has just played a blinder of a second set against the 7th seed

In round 2 four play seeds and the fifth (Jasmine) takes on the Nottingham finalist. The girls second round is tomorrow and the boys on Tuesday. Usually the number of streamed courts is reduced from Monday, but our girls have all been scheduled on courts with main events on them, so I guess they will all be available

So, David's right and the courts today with the Brits are certainly livestreamed at the moment

Isabelle is playing Linda Klimovicova, age 18, and WTA 881
Linda lost to Ranah at Roehampton in two sets, so that's encouraging
She lost to Alicia Dudeney in last year's Junior Wimbly too

Ella is currently up against Mboko who has the makings of a very interesting player but is still quite young (only 15) so has quite a lot of flaws in her game still
She's ranked WTA 768 which is excellent, given her age.
But, again, Ranah beat her at Roehampton and Victoria beat Sofia Johnson yesterday but that could very easily have gone the other way.

Isabelle got completely out-played

She showed some decent tennis but the Czech girl was completely in control, dictating play

She lost 0 & 2

Ella's match has been more interesting.
Victoria (Vicky/i?) has been playing far better than yesterday, far fewer daft errors
And won the first set, just, but deservedly so overall, as being the player just slightly more on the forward foot

The second set was equally close until near the end, when Mboko had a little wobble and Ella stayed strong
And now it's into a third....

Ella following in Sofia's footsteps and takes a set off the touted no 5 set

4-6 6-3

Hope she is able to carry on the good play in the deciding set
