The European u16 finals start tomorrow, and it is a tough ask for the British team. 5 nations qualify for the Davis Cup, including the four winners tomorrow. We drew 3rd seeds Spain who are led by Martin Landaluce (JWR10, winner of the Nottingham and Roehampton G1s plus Wimbledon semi-finalist)
Henry did well to beat the Spanish number 2 - but then Landaluce took over, so we have to win two successive matches to claim the fifth Davis Cup sport. The first of those matches is against Norway.
U16 QF
GBR 1 (3)Spain 2
Henry Searle d. Carles Cordoba 7-5 6-1
Viktor Frydrych lost to Martin Landaluce 2-6 2-6
Bonding/Searle lost to Landaluce/Segado Esteve 1-6 2-6
A win in the deciding doubles keeps our hopes alive of making the Junior Davis Cup. The winner of the tie against the Netherlands tomorrow takes the final European place. Meanwhile the two teams we have lost to (Spain/Italy) contest the final
U16 5th-8th play-off
GBR 2 Norway 1
Henry Searle beat Fredrik Krogh Solheim 6-3 3-6 6-3
Viktor Frydrych lost to Nicolai Budkov Kjaer 6-3 4-6 0-6

Fingers crossed and well done Henry Searle in particular
Yes ! Big fan of Henry Searle.
And I've been interested watching a little of Henry Jefferson and Zach Stephens in South Africa - Zach was always on my 'to watch' list (even if not quite a little fave) but Henry J has some good qualities too
And although I used to be rather mixed about Viktor (and still am, overall) the livestream events he played this summer were encouraging, better than previously.
Here is an article with the final standings in both under 16 events - the Junior Davis and Billie Jean King Cups take place in Turkey in early November (later than usual)
