Does anyone know if itll still be a mandatory counter for those with WCs this year?

Presumably it cant be of there are no ranking points being awarded at all? They cant give them mandatory zeros Right across the board, that wouldnt be fair on the players that play. Unless Im misunderstanding the question ?

Of course Jon this must be right, but in any case I believe WCs have never counted a slam as mandatory. Only those with direct entry had to do so.

Unless Jaffa means does it count towards the players wild card quota for the season? In which case I have no idea but would imagine it wouldnt

All mandatory tournament MD entries, ie. DEs, WCs and qualifiers, normally do have to count their points in their 19 counters. So for the men a WC losing in R1 carries a mandatory 0 - that's the case say with this year's Australian Open and French Open WC R1 losers ( last year with the men there weren't mandatory counters because of covid ).

Re Wimbledon this year I've been assuming that indeed it just won't count at all, so leaving room for an additional non mandatory counter. Though I have seen nothing official on this.

 Yes Indy you are right.

I thought it was only for DE but just checked the rulebook and I am wrong.

TA forecast that Djoko will take the title over Berretini.

In terms of Brits:

Andy, Cam, Ryan, Dan are forecast to win their opening matches - so, 4 wins like the women's side. The percentages suggest 4.6 wins in fact, could argue that is closer to 5!

Dan is rated as the most likely winner with 0.8% chance, Andy is 0.7% and Cam is 0.6%

Andy and Cam are both forecast for the last 16 ,Dan for the last 32. So that would give us 9 wins overall in the mens singles, added to 4 in the womens - 13 overall.

I suspect many of us think there is more chance of wins than TA is forecasting, sorry Jeff, I hope you are proven wrong!!!

From steven:
"If no Brits withdraw, this will be the first time GB have had 17 players in the main @Wimbledon singles draws for 21 years (9 men & 8 women in 2001, as in 2022), a period that included a low of just 8 in 2010. The last time with 16 was 2005."

I'm happy with Alcaraz 2nd on, Planning on watching Jodie, Lily and Katie Swan and they slot nicely round that match. Going Thursday too so the opposite side of the draw

Court 2. I tend to use my ticket as an expensive ground pass, for an extra £30 I avoid the queue. Well worth it IMO.
