Weeks 26 and 27 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - men's singles

I think Liam's intensity has increased in the second set which in turn is getting the crowd more involved. Whether that will be enough I have my doubts but it can only help.

Liam really fighting hard in this set, he should be proud of what he has done this week

Arguably Liam gave ADM a harder match than Jack Draper did, despite going down in straight sets.

If ever there was a guy who just has to crack the top 100 it is Liam.
He can be super proud of the fight he took to ADM.
Just take this form into the US hardcourt swing now.

L32:  (19) Alex de Miñaur (AUS) WR 27 defeated (WC) Liam Broady WR 132 by 3, 4 & 5  cry

Give me Alex in preference to the odious Kyrgios any time!

Liam's had the Wimbledon of his life winning two 5 setters before going down swinging defiantly to the last against an opponent with a technically superior skill set. Well done that man!

I see that Jack Sock got the better of Maxime Cressy in four:  6-4 6-4 3-6 7-6(1).

Snippet captured by the Beeb:  Cressy's throwing in the towel!  UK users:  it was on page 5 of the live Wimbledon commentary when I posted the link.  You may need to scroll down further, if you're that interested:  it was posted at 13.51.

Sock went out to Kubler today in 4 hours 15 minutes, very good match . Kubler into last 16 as a qualifier, only 29th to achieve that
Since open tennis began , I think I heard that correct

The tennis in Kyrgios and Tsitsipas is unlike any other match. Nick decided who wins this. 1 set all.

Should Tsitsipas be defaulted?

Not for either belting the ball incident ( well the first one wasn't a particular belt though lucky it actually didn't directly hit anyone  ).

John Lloyd increasingly losing it, on Tsitsipas's behalf as against Kyrgios's antics, has been rather amusing.

The match is engrossing. I understood the two hated each other - but both said beforehand they were good mates. But on this evidence Id take the former as more likely !
