All it needs is for an American to go deep and then there is likely to be a lawsuit over the points. I don't think that it is a foregone conclusion.

It doesn't have to be an American, I think if an outlier gas a good run there'll be a lawsuit. It impacts what tournaments they get into and therefore points and money for the next year

The trouble is Wimbledon impacted on who could conpete and win points there.  I don't see a case but hey I'm not a smart lawyer.

Yes, difficult to see a case, given the decision was taken transparently, up-front, plenty of time in advance of the event, so there's no question of changing the goalposts. The best argument would be that the ATP/WTA, for some reason, do not have the power to remove points but that would depend on their constitution and I haven't seen any suggestion of this.

Would like to know which player would have the funds to pay for such a challenge - obviously the ATP/WTA players' council or whatever would be the best group (a players' group that can bring a collective action, far more financially viable) but, given they're the ATP players' council, are they going to sue the ATP?

And didnt the players council themselves vote for the stripping of points - it was the players who pushed for it, at least the Council reps. Any dissent was in the rank and file, but the reps pushed the agenda. So they wouldnt sue (and I dont think constitutionally would have any ability to do so as the Board of the ATP is made up of the tournament reps and the players council reps, so they are officers of the body they would be looking to sue (if they sued!)

As well as Cam's section looking wide open for Cam to take advantage all the way to the semis, the route to the Last 8 for Liam and Jack looks at least an opportunity

We have

Garin v Brooksby or Bonzi (Brooksby 2 sets up)

AdM or Jack v Liam

It is tough but not daunting and a big opportunity for one of them

Any last 8 match could be Tsitsipas or Nick K (no love lost between those 2!) but let's get there first !

I love Jack Sock's game but he doesn't look in good shape for singles. Could do with toning up a wee bit I would say.

Just realised if Jack wins his next match (and its a big if), we would have Jack vs Liam for a place in the 4th round. How amazing is that. biggrinbiggrin

I so hope we get that.  I love them both.

Wow some stunning tennis from Jack . The match is really high quality and that one handed down the line passing shot was extraordinary, IMO the best shot of all the matches Ive seen so far .

A bit one-dimensional maybe, but young Mr Draper does fetch the ball a mighty belt.

However this ends, Draper has arrived. What a force already and can only get better.

They are both serving solidly in set two. Looks like going to a tie break
