Weeks 26 and 27 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - men's singles

Liam seems to have found the excellent habit of coming out on top in a lot of his close matches recently. Clearly in a good place mentally in this last 12 months and so good to see. Even more gutted now that there are no points for this Wimbledon.

An awful lot of time spent by both players at the back of the court!

Counting both men and women we now have 8 players in round two with Boulter and Darts results still to come. How good is this. When did we last have this many wins in round 1.

Real happy for Liam. His victories often seem hard won, which must make them all the sweeter.

Shocked to see Dan lose in straight sets.
Never imagined any other than a win for him.

Not really, his form has been pretty bad of late. Will do well to stay in the top 100 next year

Hey Rich - indeed, it is fabulous!

Not sure if you are aware - as a relative newbie! - that we have some votes taking place over in the general section to keep things fun. One of which was how many wins we would achieve across the 5 main disciplines (doubles starts tomorrow I see).

https://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t68563066/poll-how-many-main-draw-wins-will-british-players-get-at-wim/

You may also not have seen player of the month polls?

Sadly both are too late to vote in this month (they closed just an hour or so ago) but it would be great if you can clock them for end of July!

https://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t68576075/june-2022-player-of-the-month-vote-final/

For Player of the Month, you can put nominations up at any time during the month - just add them to the list with a short narrative explaining the reason

https://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t68578429/2022-july-player-of-the-month-nominations-thread/

And at season end there will be a player of the season vote as well - 10 players already guaranteed a place in that

https://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t68137271/2022-british-player-of-the-monthseason-overview-thread/

Finally, forgive me if this isnt new to you, just thought it may be as some folks dont stumble into the general threads!!

ETA - apologies as the hyperlinks arent working for some reason but I am sure you can paste into your browser!

It does appear that JonH made a spelling mistake, but I'm sure heel be more careful in future.

Thanks JonH. I did see the polls a couple of days back and voted. But thanks for informing me anyway.
