I am thinking Miriambee might have been a bit conservative with her 40
Although I have been a proponent of it being Wimbledon and will still be a great tournament overall, I wonder if in some cases the no ranking points situation has left the home players more up for it than the opposition?

Though of course still plenty really good wins.
If it had come from nowhere then possibly but in the main they're just carrying on the form they showed pre Wimbledon. Theoretically you'd think everyone would've been up for those tournaments.
Presumably the fact that there are so many more GB entries this year (thanks to more 'generous' wildcards) means we were always likely to have more than normal?
Whatever anyone says, we've also had some decent draws - overall, it couldn't have been much better
Not really sure why no ranking points would help our players more than the others but if that's what it takes, it's quite a good idea by the AELTC

Maybe something of nothing But just that slight wonder if it might just take a vital few % points away from a few foreign players that don't see themselves as ultimate challengers here.
There's been one or two quotes about some players looking as if they didn't want to be there. Maybe that would have been the case whatever, maybe not?
Whereas I just feel that the points situation is rather less likely to effect GB players who I'd just expect to be totally up for their home Slam whatever.
I went for 23 so it's going to have to be a disaster from here on in.
And the mixed hasn't even started, and there are 5 British entries, most years there are only 2 or 3.
I was about to say the opposite ! In 2019 we had 16 players in mixed , 2021 we had 18 - this year we have just 8. So I think it is actually a big drop, linked to it being a 32 draw as opposed to 48 the past few times
