Week 19 - ITF W25 - Nottingham, GB Hard

Sonay has taken the first set from the third seed 6-3

She was a break down in the second set, but back on serve, *1-2.

I think this is a match where seedings go out of the window. The Latvian had lost 10 of her 11 matches this season before yesterday (inc Freya last week in a 50/50), and she was as big as 7/1 or 8.00 at some bookies today.

Montgomery served at 84% first serves and 7 aces today; Eden may have her work cut out if that continues tomorrow.

Good win for Naiktha and Maia in the doubles. The other QF's are under way (or about to start).

Eden's singles results have been far better than her doubles results of late. And especially with her hitting singles CHs I think we can cope with that!

Live ranked 359 counting last week's Nottingham QF but not this one.
