Good to see Given pushing on after a poor start to the season. Having seen Nao, Given should be too good for her.
Given is now 17, so good to see her progressing and hopefully moving on to see if she can adapt to main tour in the near future.

I wish her all the luck but she is a LONG way off the level of the other better 2005-ers.

I hope she goes to US college - she could do with some time to really sort out her technique and fitness - US college would be perfect for her (assuming she's stayed in her studies to some extent) and give her the time to develop.

Young Oliver Bonding continues his really good run of form and takes out Henry Searle in three sets.

Kyle Hughes also lost in three so there's only Oli in the singles semis on the boys' side

Oliver Bonding will play Max Dahlin(Swe) after a tight two set win.

Interesting that Fatu beat Ben Gusic Wan, our top 2007-er, (supposedly, never been convinced), 6-1 6-1, but has been beaten by Oliver, 2007.

Oliver is really throwing down the gauntlet.

The U14 Nationals this year will be very interesting (although only a passing snapshot, of course)

I'm a big fan of Ben - he uses his court skills well. If he could grow, he would have much more weapons. I've not seen Oli play yet.

As expected Given easily won her semi final

Yes, I'm encouraged by the fact you're a big fan of Ben's.

And, I agree, he does have a good vision of the court.

I'm not convinced but that's no matter.... smile

And I also haven't seen Oli play either but have been watching his name with interest, especially as the other top ones like Joe M and Max C don't seem to be making much of a statement recently.

Good to see Oliver B progressing so well. He left Loughborough last summer and seems to have improved his results. He is very tall for a 2007, great advantage.

I could be wrong - but I think 2007 are too old now to do 14u nationals. Its 2008 and younger

Poor Daniela had to retire in her match

So that leaves the Finals as:

Given Roach (age 17) v Marelie Raath (RSA) (age 15)

Oliver Bonding (age 14) v Max Dahlin (SWE) (age 16)

In the doubles, Daniela and Given gave a walkover

So the finals are:

Mille Skelton & Jess Matthews v Flora Johnson & Nao Nishino

James Beaven & Kyran Magimay v Max Dahlin & Oliver Hague

Fantastic news. Will be a big jump for both of them up the world rankings and puts Oliver in the top ten for 2007 boys, I think.

And it's two more titles in the boy's dubs:

James Beaven & Kyran Magimay v Max Dahlin (SWE) & Oliver Hague 6-3 4-6 10-8

But we HAD to give one title away, just to be hospitable:

Flora Johnson & Nao Nishino (JPN) def. Millie Skelton & Jess Matthews 6-3 1-6 10-7
