But did he mean wimbledon womens quali wc, which Eva had last year? Also I wouldn't rule Ruby out from a shock win in qf, she had a lot of good results last summer but seems to have hardly played over the winter. No idea why but could have been injury, or even just training. Also agree it is ridiculous to put this on and not have umpires. Last year it was later, due to covid, and was on the grass at surbiton, with umpires in main draw, and I think on last day of qualifying at least as I was there that day.
....... David or Lambda, just in the 'still unlikely but you never know' case of Hannah winning, I assume she wouldn't be able to take the Wimbly quali wildcard? She's too young, no? (I lose track of the rules.....)
Correct - nor would she be eligible for any of the W25/W100 prizes, as she can only play pro events at 14. They might offer to defer those prizes for a year should she reach the final here or win
I don't think it really matters if they are deferred. If the LTA run the same number of 25Ks next year as this I'd be amazed if Hannah didn't get to use her 3 WCs regardless of whether she wins here or not.
Edit to add:
The player pack says
All the wild card opportunities above are subject to the players eligibility to compete in that event,
and any wild card limits under that events tournament regulations

Thanks a lot, David.
I seem to remember you mentioning the 14 year cut-off before, but wasn't A1 sure.
Yes, as others say, the deferral is not particularly important as, assuming she's still playing well, next year should take care of itself whatever. And, yes, I also seem to remember reading something about being able to give it to the next person if not needed (can't be used would presumably in the same box)
But makes it even more daft, IMO, to have players of an age participating where they can't even benefit from one of the main points of the event.
(And, yes, I'm a huge Hannah fan, have been twittering on for ages, but I still wouldn't allow her in this event - although I can see others' viewpoints).
Mimi was 5-2 up in the second, the slightly stronger player, when Hannah really took it up a gear and went for it.
Got it back to 5-5
But Mimi really hung tough - she could have cracked - there was quite a lot of noise in the tribunes - she did really well to buckle down and keep playing strong.
Good match - Mimi v Hannah.
Hannah did well to come back in the second set, when Mimi made lots of forehand errors, but Hannah kept getting behind on serve and Mimi's extra power was the deciding factor.
Mimi, Talia, Ranah and Hep make up the last four.
Should be cracking matches.
