The Junior National Championships 18U will be held at the NTC on outdoor hard courts from 2 April with the 16U a week later. The entry list have been released and the WCs for the girls awarded, with unsurprisingly 13 year old Hannah getting a WC to the main draw of both events.

Very pleased to see that Daniela P got a wildcard to the U16. Hannah is a slamdunk. And nice to see Jasmine participating (Matilda is obviously not tempted)
Gigi Hayes is a new name to me.
Not surprised that none of the boys stand out well enough for wildcards.
Apologies for hijacking Lambda's excellent thread for an announcement which is only tangentially relevant, but noticing the string of prizes in junior grass court events I thought I would link to yesterday's announcement from Tennis Europe.
Essentially as well as the Grade 1 under 18 junior events at Nottingham and Roehampton this year will see the first Category 1 event for under 14s on grass - also at Roehampton.
Ive meant to ask, where do Britains teams stand in terms of the boys and girls Davis and Fed Cup equivalents at the various age groups? Do we have any teams actually in or near the finals?

The Junior Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup finals feature 16 nations in September or October each year. However we haven't entered since 2019 (2020 event was cancelled and 2021 we opted out because of Covid). Qualification takes place via the Tennis Europe Summer Cups in July/August. There is a pseudo-random element to the draws, so even if we play our strongest team it may be tough to reach the European finals let alone the DC/BJK finals. But if they make it to the finals then the girls team could be serious contenders

Thanks David - sort of why I asked as it felt our girls might be stronger relatively than recently.

See from the draw that girls u18 has a LL in main draw, ie 5 x q/ll places and it is Jasmine that has withdrawn.
If Mimi wins the u16 event, will she get a second wildcard for the itf events coming up in addition to the one she has from winning the u18?
Most of the wildcards for the u16 winner replicate some of those from the u18 but both events offered an itf 25 wildcard, so will she get 2 in total? If she wins
