Note - in the unlikely event of a tie vote. Ill extend the vote by an hour and see if the tie is broken. If it remains a draw, Ill literally toss a coin by some random tiebreaker Ill come up with
7 of the 8 matches went predictably with rankings but the final match is a tie and we will go into a tiebreaker. Kyle v Jubby will finish at 10 and once it is complete the day two match polls will also be posted.
I dont think this event is really capturing the imagination, but I will persevere through the week - past round one, the matches get more interesting and hopefully that will attract some voters to take part.
Hopefully!
ETA - I also realise that sticking stuff in the predictions section tends to mean they don't get visited by as many people, a lot of members don't visit this section.
But it is the right place for it to be, so we will live with it!!

Relative or indeed total walkovers were always the danger in most of the early matches. The majority have clearly generally better players and they are going to get the big majority off the votes so upsets will be rarer than the real thing.
I rather think most of the QFs will go the same way but the SFs on look really interesting.
Not everything will work as well but I feel the forum owes you lots of thanks for all the contests you come up with for us, memorably during lock down. Keep on trucking ...
You could maybe put a pointer to this contest in say a vaguely relevant thread in the general section.

Hi Indy, no , its fine, I am sanguine on it (thanks for the thanks, but I already am very much aware that folks generally have liked these events/polls etc, I will always take the plaudits offered, but genuinely don't need them - my ego is big enough!).
What I am keen on, though, is to come up with things that people feel they can engage with, so it is always a learning curve and , hopefully, the general trend is up.
I think I will the signpost elsewhere, I tend to think people generally will come if they want to, and this is probably one for the afficionados!
As it's a fantasy tournament, and to avoid it going according to seeding, might I suggest :
Handicaps assigned at random!
1. No strings in racquet 2. No shoelaces 3. Wearing reading spectacles 4. Swearing every other word 5. Parrot on shoulder 6. Drank pint of fizzy water beforehand 7. Ears burning 8. Allergic to bananas 9. Heckler in crowd 10. Only odd socks available 11. Ate so many beans last night 12. Perpetual swarm of butterflies 13. Does my bum look big in this? 14. Sun in my eyes 15. Infamy, they've all got it infamy! 16. Retiring next week.
So, it looks like the top 4 in each of mens and womens will get through to the semis - not really surprised.
But that also means the last 4 match ups could be very interesting indeed. So I hope that reflects in the votes that get cast as the final stages unravel!

Only joking ....
I think some of these definitely apply, not just in fantasy land!!
I hope folks didnt mind me doing this - it is a little self indulgent but hopefully some interest for folks.
For now, I havent got any other wacky ideas for similar events, so will stick with the PoM polls!
Although I will do something around British wins over the grass court season events, ATP/WTA and Challenger/ITF but not sure of structure just yet - in the past I have done mens and womens main draw wins but think I might add qualies into that, not sure yet...
