At this point, the most important part is getting players an ITF ranking, so they get into competition.
Especially 2008 girls and the older boys.
I see Cameron Fryer just missed out. He is highly regarded at Stirling.
Yes, crucial to get a ranking for the less favoured ones.
Not really a problem for the LTA elite as they will get wildcards and arrangements with other federations etc.
Hannah Klugman, for instance, won't care in the slightest about if she gets a junior ranking this month, or in six months time, her team will be looking big picture.
Great to know that Cameron is well thought of.
But he is 16. It's pretty old to be playing J5s.
I note that joe Mazingham (who beat him) now plays Ben, in a repeat of our U14 nationals.
Also, spare a thought for the poor Italian federation who came with three boys - all of whom lost in R1 :(
Not surprised by Popescu. She gets everything back in court and forces mistakes. You need to be aggressive and consistent to beat her.
Quite happy some of the UK wildcards and qualifiers got through.
Bit disappointing that Anders used his influence to get wildcard and qwc for Norwegians.

Yes. I agree. As before, a couple of quali draw places seems reasonable, possibly. But I'd like to know why the Norwegian girls deserve MD places, given we had none in the previous Norwegian event a few weeks ago.
Best new is that my little fave Daniela (age 14) thrashed paulisi's 'pesky' Romanian (age 17) - she's had a decent event - she had her moment yesterday against poor Brooke - time for all good things to come to an end!
Daniela will now play Given Roach (who only just beat youngster, Isabelle Britton)
Lovely win by Sarah Copley (age 14), whom I follow, to beat the RSA girl who beat our top seed.
Ava Williamson lost 8-6 in a third-set TB, which is a killer, Her victor plays Sarah in the top QF.
Jaquelyn O beat young Mika and will now play Mia Wainwright (age 14) in that QF
Young Sophia K lost 5-7 in third
Her victor will play Maria Ustic (Age 14), who won 8-6 in her third-set TB (there must have been some dramas there today)
Good showing by all the 13 year-olds. And some decent 14 year-olds left in.
Mia was a little unlucky in the J3 at Glasgow when she lost easily in R1 to the player who then made the finals. (I'm also not a great fan of Jaquelyn Ogunwale's tennis, so not surprised Mia beat her).
And great for Sarah who had ZERO singles ITF points before this event. An amazing week for her.
Given, at 16, has had a really thin last 12 months, in terms of competition, especially for someone at the academy. So good to get a run.
The big stand-out though, is Ben Hudson - to put out the second seed (Nestola) 6-2 6-1 is really making a big statement
