So we have:

Aidan versus Ben
Jan versus Paul
Anton versus Antoine - Im sure theres a joke in that one !

From these 7, with the retired James Ward dropping quite big points and places on Monday:

Ryan, Paul, Aidan, Billy and Anton will be GB ranks #8 to 12, so our 5 highest ranked players after our clear top 7. Plus we have Jan GB #16 hopefully on his way back up the rankings and a welcome interloper in Ben.

The Jan v Paul matchup is a really interesting one

Me too. Interesting to see how Paul fares over the next few years, I hope he continues to do well, but he still looks slight so hope he can remain injury free.

I hope Ben does well, Ive not seen him play or train since pre-Corona but hes tall with a big serve.

Anton into a third set tie-break

But having done all the work, muffs the final shot in the first two points

Shocking tie break from Anton - so many unforced errors

And the tie-break didn't get any better, from Anton's point of view, at least.

Pretty horrendous.

6-7(2)

Seems a bit harsh considering he took a player ranked nearly 150 places above him to a final set tie break.

Both Paulisi and I only said that the tie-break was awful - which it was.

That's not harsh.

Completely agree that, overall, he laid down a good match there, and should be pleased, especially as he must have been disappointed with his showing in Bath.

I took it they were just talking about the TB.

He played badly in the tie breaker.

Aidan won in straight sets. Penno lost the opener on a tie breaker, but is a break up.

Nice win from Julian Cash and partner too, taking out the second seeds.

(I've a lot more time for Julian as a doubles player)

Ryan and Billy at 5 all second set, Billy is up one set. Would be a big win for him.

Jan C took the opener off Paul, but Paul is close to squaring it.

Jan won in 3 sets, good result for him, plays Escoffier next.

Billy and Ryan in a 3rd set , 3 all. Aidan awaits .

And Ryan pulls it out , 3 1/2 hours.

Plays Aidan tomorrow. Aidan can grind and I fancy him to win.

Aidan v Jan for the final?
