Hi TA - where does one get doubles acceptance lists for ITF events ? Darts rankings do atp and wta and mens challenger, but the itf do the singles only?

is there a good resource for doubles lists or am I missing an obvious trick?!

The ITF show advance entries for doubles for W25 and upwards. On the individual tournament webpage acceptance lists there is a dropdown for singles/doubles. For example on the Birmingham list I can see four of the five pairs have at least one Brit.

Amazing when you look at the difference of the men's and women's this week.

Women's Birmingham 25k has eight players in the top 300, and fifteen in the top 400 !

(Compare that to Bath, with only one in the top 300, and only two in the top 400)

Men's Shrewsbury 25k has ZERO in the top 300 and five in the top 400

I am pretty sure thatv W25s are in general quite ac bit stronger in ranking terms than M25s due to the ranking points on offer.

W25s continue to be really anomalous with their prize money vs points but the points have long made them in a way mini challengers. The Bath W25 was unusually weak.

Well Beth is in Grenoble, but Sam is top seed in qualifying in Birmingham, with a wild card, so they are out.

The Birmingham Q draw is out and Lauryn, Eliz and Freya are all there.  Looking at those who are missing suggests the wild cards could possibly be Sonay, Mimi, Armani and possibly Emma Wilson?  But who knows...

Yeah, pretty much exactly the same time ST. smile

I guess there could maybe be a surprise name, as I didn't expect to see Sam with a QWC, but I think it will be between those 4/5. It'll be interesting to see who isn't playing because all of them had pretty positive showings in Loughborough.

Great to see Sam take a last minute slot in the draw.

Tiddler Brooke Black (age 14) is in the draw, as is Ava Williamson (age 15), and Hep O (age 14) has a wildcard too.

Other juniors are Fran Davis, Jasmine Conway and Issey Purser.

It would be a shame if Emma doesn't get a main draw wildcard but my suspicion is that one may be given instead to Talia Neilson Gatenby as she is young and did well at Loughborough. The huge surprise to me among the quali wild cards is Maddie Brooks. Doe anyone have a theory as to how she has got one?

Exactly what I was thinking ! (About Maddie, that is)

She's 32 (which is not a problem......) but has no recent form of any note, and her showing last week was very mediocre.

Emma had a wildcard to Bath so it doesn't seem hugely unfair if she doesn't get another (although I've lost count of who is due what from the feed-ups)

Mind you, Maddie was very close to getting in as of right (for the qualis) - the depth of the quali acceptance list fell off a cliff (hence real youngsters with hardly any ranking of note like Brooke Black getting in as of right)

What I don't understand is how Brooke won a quali round in Bath and now has an ITF point. Whereas Emma won a main draw match and doesn't seem to have any itf points?

It does seem a bit of surprise. 33 y/o in a few days, largely out of her depth at the UKPL this past week against the type of players she would be facing in quals (Anna, Andre etc.) so it seems a bit of a waste, but I guess she did end her week with a win, and may well have some links to Midlands tennis, plus there probably wasn't too many alternatives, and she is at least 'tennis ready'.

Peter seems to be putting off Birmingham in his women's entry threads, or perhaps saving the best for last biggrin
