Just been looking at the entries for the next few weeks. The upcoming tournaments are:-
05-07 May - Grade 2 - Connaught Club
10-14 May - Grade 2 - Woking
16-21 May - Grade 1 - Penarth
22-27 May - Premier - Felixstowe - entries close Monday 09 May - Joanna Garland and Freya Christie lead the women's entries at the moment. Alexis Canter, Tom Hands and Patrick Foley are in the mens list. £1,500 to the winner.
Also entered are two interesting juniors - Breakthrough John and his sister Praises of God John.
Jizel Matos-Sequeira Fernandes [1] v Katie Dyson
Erin Pearce [3] v Marele Raath [2]
Robert Leck [1] v Raffaello Papajcik [4]
Llewelyn Bevan [3] v Louis Quaynor
Felixstowe looking a little more interesting now. With the entry deadline on Monday, new entrants include Eliz Maloney, Emma Wilson and Holly Hutchinson.

Add Maia Lumsden and Nadia Rawson to that list.
On the men's side add Jack Gibbens, George Houghton, Joseph Newman-Billington and Harry Wendelken - and probably others that I don't recognise as I don't follow the mens so closely.
On top of the prize-money there is a WIld Card for the winners into the Wimbledon Wild-Card playoffs.
Katie Dyson is a name not seen for a number of years, dad was a tennis coach in Herts where he coached a number of juniors who went on to D1 colleges.
Allegedly Katie spent time at the Bollettieri in her early teens before joining Rollins College 2016 -2019, where she saw limited court action. Think she was out of tennis for a number of years, but she is now coaching in Herts. Nice to see her back on court and a great win for her.

Katie has been playing qualis in the recent 25ks too.
Not with much effect, as far as results go.
But she's played four matches, in the four Notts events.
I saw her play about 7 years ago in Surbiton - not great but I wish her well
The Penarth event is at the semis stage, noticed there is a WIlliam Mclennaghan in the semis there; if he wins his semi today, he is due to play the final tomorrow afternoon.
He is also in the Felixstowe qualifying field and scheduled for Sunday circa 1 pm.
Good try JonH, but it is Penarth not Penrith i.e. just south of Cardiff ! It's still about 250 miles and a 4.5 hour drive though. At least he didn't get an 11am start on Sunday.

Ahha- I read it as Penrith and assumed it was up North!
Good to hear, but South Wales more manageable (I used to live in Usk, so know the area a little!)
Now, I know we're all very open-minded about weird and wonderful names (well, all bar SC ) ......... but when I look at the quali draw in the women's for Felixstowe, I see a player called:

I pointed this out some days ago. She is listed as being born in 2009. In the men's draw there is a player called Breakthrough John who is a 2007. I am tempted to call in and find out more as Felixstrowe is around 45 minutes away.
