Yes, but why the difference - that was my question
i think the British women were playing ranking events at the time and they have less depth in the ranks to fill in the gaps
A lot of the former regulars like Freya, Sonay and Emily Appleton have been playing primarily on the main tour this year, I do wonder if it will continue in 2023.
I reckon you'll have to wait untl the end of this week at the very earliest to find out who is playing. I posted the lists of who has qualified a few days ago, but have no idea who will turn up or who will get the wild cards in the end.

Hi TA - thanks, yes, I had seen the final rankings tables of the top 9, I guess in my mind (as you say) what I was interested in is how that translated to a list of actual participants and, also , the final wild cards list (several names mentioned but we all know wild cards dont always transpire into participation).
With it starting on Monday, I guess it will be a few days yet then.
in terms of the question around the future of UKPL. The business case for it was always about betting money. It came about because of that need during covid and filled a gap when other events werent happening, as did many of the other events around the world that sprung up, UTR events for example expanded, various domestic pro leagues in places like Spain, Russia, the events down at Mourateglou's camp in Nice.
If the betting money is still behind this event, I suspect it will continue to take place fitting in around those home ITF events; on a personal level, I would like to see it merge in with the British Tour in some way, perhaps create a Elite Level above the Premier Tier events that encompasses this series of UKPL events and feeding into a joint season ending finals.

Mens WCs are Kyle Edmund, Charlie Broom and Giles Hussey Womens WCs are Eden Silva, Freya Christie and Maia Lumsden
Of the top 9 women's players, Beth appears to be committed to play an ITF. None of the top 9 men are entered into ITFs.
