It is going to be a challenging year spelling wise for Emma and Matilda are with us for a while so
Seagull will have weeks for creative tries at their surnames
I have no problem with Emma's - very phonetic.
But Matilda's causes me grief, partly because it's very similar to Anton's, so they get mixed up in my little brain (I think Mut. and Mat. is sufficient....hope they don't mind....)
Mind you, ever since Tom Farq. stopped playing pro tennis, it's been a blessing - that always put me in a tailspin....
(NB Noted recently that he's a business consultant now)
Sad we will no longer see Jo on lists. But good to see all our now top 10 women apparently fit and ready for the off ( with Beth entered for Bath in week 2 ).
Would people rather I produce these once initial entries are known or when withdrawal deadline has passed?
Yes, the current system is great, as far as I'm concerned.
Wasn't the system being generally applied recently to post a placeholder as the opening post but actually only edit that with the entries when the withdrawal entry passed?
So now, as here and for week 2. posting entries earlier is a change back.
I rather prefer them posted after withdrawal deadline, when much clearer, but looks as if I'm in a mnority. Fair enough, especially if updated after withdrawal deadline.
I don't have a preference either way, but what I really don't like is before the withdrawal deadline choosing only one of a players entries. I prefer to know what a player's choices are, so I'd like to see all the entries before the withdrawal deadline unless they are already on an ATP/WTA list when, as with Harriet at the beginning of this thread, they wouldn't be able play any ITFs. To limit it to one, I'd rather wait until the player has made their choice.
I think seagull does a Sterling job with these lists, as I have said many times, I refer to them all the time. I am sure the whole board are grateful.
If people want them updated (which I understand) maybe those with admin status could help a little otherwise poor seagull will spend his life updating them (and I am sure nobody expects that!) I am not sure who the current admin are, and whether they are around enough. I was brought on board as one but my main remit was to delete the "kitchen spam". I have tried to help with a little updating but I really do not have the time beyond an occasional contribution.
Are there any other admin who can help out or, are their posters who would like to be admin for this task?
I also refer to the lists a lot, and try and post when I see any changes on the women's lists. I'm here pretty well every time, but I'm not an admin although I'm willing to help out.
