Talia was 5th seed, so there's not much difference between her and the 2nd.

In fact, she's higher ranked than the 2nd seed now, so she should have won, the result followed the rankings.

Impressed by the scores of Ruby and Daniela.

So we've got two 2005-born girls, one 2006, and one 2007 - for the last 4 spots in a J3, that's big points. And good that it's not the older contingent.

ah, ok. I took it on face value!

Who would you expect to win the semis, CD?

Ella McDonald versus Issy Lacy
Mimi Xu versus Talia Neilson-Gatenby

Issy and Mimi?

 That's predictions for you biggrin

I would have said Mimi too - so well done to Talia - there is 2 years difference, so that can be important, and it's great to see Talia do well after all those injuries.

I'd have gone for Ella though, as she seems to be on excellent form at the moment.

Anyway, it doesn't matter, we have our two 2005-born girls in the final. It's a very good tournament for GB interest....

Should be big jumps for all of them for the rankings in the NY. Fantastic to see a whole cohort of juniors progressing so well.

Boys Singles: Great to see Matt and Billy in the final - the big guns

Both won their semis in two sets

And great that the points will be all GB, of course....

Boys dubs:

Billy is on track for the double as him and little bro make the final (our own Bryan Brothers )

And will play Hugo C and Henry Searle, so that's an all GB affair now too

Girls Dubs:

Talia also on track for the double.

Mimi & Talia won their SF easily. And will play the SKN/SVK pair who edged out Abby and Given

and the OOP suggests they are playing the boys doubles final this evening as well - although not the girls?.

Just for the record:

Ella def. Talia 6-2 6-3

Matt def. Billy 6-4 7-6(6)

I don't think the girls was a surprise, Ella has been on such good form recently. But great showing from both of them.
The boys looks a lot closer. Matt has had a great autumn.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but just to say, Ella McDonald is the daughter of Neil McDonald, ex-pro footballer, with Everton, Newcastle, Preston etc.
Ella is at the Stirling Elite Academy
I think Matt Rankin is there too (he's Scottish, no?)

So congrats to Stirling for getting both titles

And to Jose Higuearas (assuming he's still the main coach there)
