RE: 2021 Player of the Season Wild Card Nominations Thread

I'll risk nominating Ryan Peniston although he is still in action this week.

Having won back to back Greece 15Ks in May, he is now regularly getting through a MD round or two in challengers.

He started the year WR 378 with a CH 359 and by so far reaching the QF in the Bahrain Challenger this week, his CH should at least move up into the 280s.

 Nice one

Certainly no rush, but just a reminder - take a look at some of the lists on this thread of tournie wins, PoM nominations, rankings list leaders and winners and see if anyone inspires you to nominate them.

And dont get put off if your potential nominee is in Nov/Dec PoM voting list - they can be in this also; they will just get taken out before the vote if they happen to be successful in the Nov/Dec PoM votes

Hi Gameover - many thanks , however Im afraid Ill have to decline Eva for now. I think in the first post I said there would only be one nomination per board member allowed, and youve had Katie. the aim was to try involve as many folks as possible. Im , for now at least, going to keep that rule but if someone else wants to nominate Eva, that would be great and if there are spaces left when the nominations close in a couple of weeks , I will pop Eva in as first alternate . hopeful someone will nominate her instead and many thanks for being enthusiastic!!

Sorry I wasn't  sure about the position regarding nominating  more than one player. I recalled that Eva had some success in the juniors just before Wimbledon even to the extent of  being featured in the Radio Times.

No, its fine. if we dont have enough nominations come the 12th Dec, Eva can be first alternate and I hope someone else will come in and nominate her before then, perhaps someone who follows the junior game as she is our national champion as you say.

Just to say, I will probably leave the one member , one nomination rule in place until end of next weekend and then for the final week of nominations I will let it be a free for all. Folks will have had enough time to consider nominations if they choose to by next weekend and so we can let those who have a second or more nomination to make have their further input.

SO, I will make it open to all comers to nominate as freely as they like from beginning of 5th December onwards.

I'd like to nominate a young chap called Andy Murray, for being the best possible role model and ambassador for British tennis that we could wish for. And for showing what it means to keep fighting no matter what.

Oh yes! And for beating top 10 players like Sinner and Hurkacz!
